How it all started
I have always loved being out on the open water and being a wildlife photographer the two work well together.
I started my 'water career' on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, where I canoed and kayaked amongst hippos, crocodiles and elephants to white water rafting down the gorges of the Zambezi river.
My daughter was introduced to sailing by a friend of hers one summer. She instantly fell in love with the joys of being on the water sailing, kayaking and SUP boarding.
We joined a sailing club not too far from us and soon became part of the Watersports club community.
I soon became hooked on taking photographs of sailors, paddlers, and water-skiers in action. I then became a member of the sailing committee, as well as becoming the club’s photographer to assist them in club promotion and event coverage. I now cannot get enough of capturing the all-important action shots.
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) has a monthly Inbrief newsletter that goes out to all its subscribers
and three of my images have won the 'Photo Of The Month' which was a great way to promote our sailing club.
In order to get some of the action shots out on the water, I work with David Coulson from Cascade Watersports who assists me in getting into the correct position for water based shots.
How will the session work
Individual and commercial shoots
A session will be tailor made around you, your requirements, club resources and facilities available.
I will work in conjunction with David Coulson from Cascade Water sports who will assist me in getting into the correct position on the water to capture those all-important shots
You have a choice of angles; land based, water or both. If water based, then you would need to provide a safety boat through your club that we can use, if this is not available, please let me know and we can discuss an alternative.
A session length will vary to your needs; however, a standard session would be 2-3 hours, you can book a half/ full day or several days for functions and events coverage. We will require 1 hour to meet, setup and pack away club equipment after the shoot.
No additional transport charges within 30 miles of Milton Keynes, thereafter a charge will be applied.
We will have a telephone/zoom conversation to discuss your requirements as well as ours.
Meet on the day of your photoshoot at your club to familiarise ourselves, confirm your requirements, health and safety of club and equipment to be used etc.
I will then take the photographs
After the shoot, I will prepare the images for you to view approximately a week later via a password protected 'client area' on my website.
